Sampit (Antara Kalteng) - The General Election Supervisory Committee (Panwaslu) in Central Kalimantan does not appear serious about investigating alleged money politics in the 2014 legislative elections, claimed a political party official.
"We are afraid the investigation into alleged money politics during the legislative elections in Central Kalimantan is not clear enough," local Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) spokesman Riduansyah stated here on Monday.
According to him, several incidents point towards an election fraud in Central Kalimantan, but there was an impression that Bawaslu seemed to be ignored.
He noted that besides money politics, some wrongdoers had allegedly stamped unused ballot papers for certain political parties after the elections.
At Mentawa Baru sub-district in Ketapang, three people were caught red-handed engaging in money politics, but Panwaslu did not take any action against them.
Riduansyah pointed out that Bawaslu should have held them responsible for their actions, but it failed to do so.
He elaborated that even in the Pasir Putih sub-district, several ballot papers were stamped at the same time for a certain legislative candidate to win the elections.
Therefore, he remarked that the PDIP will question Panwaslu`s commitment in showing its professionalism towards upholding the election rules and regulations.
